"Sandra Caron health spa spreads out"

The Sandra Caron European Spa of San Mateo made a major investment geared to its wealthy Silicon Valley clientele, opening a new 8,000-square-foot facility that offers' body treatments and New Age relaxation programs.

The facility is geared primarily to women, but offers programs for both sexes, including massage and bath treatments, as well as holistic practices such as aromatherapy, meditation and yoga. The new facility makes Caron's the largest such center in the Bay Area. Caron believes the local market for such services will only continue to grow.

"Many Bay Area professionals don't take time for themselves and work long hours," Sandra Caron said. "The spa provides a holistic way for women and men to bring balance to their personal lives and relieve the stress of Silicon Valley."

The new facility1 which is expected to serve about 120 people a day, will cost about $700,000 to develop. Caron also operates a smaller facility in Burlingame.
